Abstract: The AD73360 is a programmable three-phase power test IC for industrial meters and multiple input systems. This paper introduces the design and application method of multi-channel data acquisition system composed of ADSP-BF531 and AD73360 in power load control terminal.

O Introduction The power load control terminal is a monitoring device installed at the user end. It is responsible for the important tasks of data collection, user control, and information exchange of the power load management system. It is the basis of the power load management system. It can not only accept the remote control command of the load management center, but also realize local power and power control according to the purchased power or planned power consumption index sent by the center, and can also return the user's power consumption status to the center.
In the power load control terminal, the accuracy of data acquisition directly affects the performance of the system. In the measurement of periodic electrical parameters, simultaneous sampling is the key to accurately measuring real-time signals. In addition to detecting the voltage and current values ​​of each phase, it also detects the phase between each other, so it is required to simultaneously sample several signals. In the development of power load control terminal products, the digital signal processor ADSP-BF531 is selected as the technical core of the system. At the same time, the 16-bit A/D converter AD73360 is selected as the core device of the forward channel of the system. Practice shows that the AD73360 is suitable for analog front-end devices as power parameter measurement, and has good accuracy and stability for measuring power parameters.
1 Introduction to AD73360
The AD73360 is a programmable general-purpose 6-channel 16-bit precision serial analog input front-end processor from ADl. It is a three-phase power test IC device for industrial meters or multiple input systems. Each of its channels consists of a signal conditioner, a PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier), an analog sigma-delta modulator, a sampler, and a serial port. Because it has an internal PGA and a separate analog front end, it can directly perform small-scale sensor signal acquisition; ∑-Δ ADC generally does not require high-precision analog circuits. However, it is necessary to convert the ordinary signal into a differential signal before accessing the acquisition. The AD73360 has a signal conditioning module on the front end that allows the user's input signal to be single-ended or differential. Therefore, the number and complexity of peripheral circuits can be effectively reduced.
The AD73360 is ideal for industrial control applications that require simultaneous sampling. It is not only suitable for large signal applications, but also for small signal applications. The AD73360 has six analog input channels that can be sampled simultaneously. These six channels can be sampled simultaneously without CPU intervention. Thereby, the phase error due to the different sampling time can be effectively reduced. The sampling rate of each channel can be easily set using the control word at 8 kHz, 16 kHz, 32 kHz, and 64 kHz. Therefore, it is especially suitable for the three-phase power operation parameter measurement and control application (three phase voltage and three phase current simultaneous sampling) system.
In addition, compared with the parallel interface, the AD73360 uses a six-wire industry standard synchronous serial interface to connect to the CPU, so the hardware connection can be greatly reduced, which not only reduces the area of ​​the printed circuit board, but also reduces electromagnetic interference.
