Smart street lights transform into "city heroes" to help enterprises nugget Internet of Things blue ocean

Zhongke Zhicheng and US companies set up an IoT joint venture in Guangzhou, Cisco in China's first global Internet cloud platform, and the world's first graphene electronic paper was born in Guangzhou... Recently, Guangzhou R&D institutions and enterprises frequently entered the Internet of Things. In the field, it has formed a rush to seize the commanding heights of the Internet of Things and the blue ocean of the Nuggets IoT market.

Among them, the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology, located in the Nansha area of the Free Trade Zone, and the US Internet of Things (Sensity), a well-known American Internet of Things company, have already signed a contract in the United States, and will complete the registration of the joint venture in Nansha in the near future. In the future, the two sides will set up an international joint R&D center in Nansha and Silicon Valley to develop “Smart City” products based on “ Street Light IoT” technology. At this point, Guangzhou Nansha has at least four major innovation project teams in the Internet of Things field, becoming the “highland” of the international Internet of Things research and development, and will be divided into more “cakes” in the IoT market with an output value of US$1.9 trillion.

40,000 smart street lights go to the country

Since entering Nansha in 2011, the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has placed more than 40,000 “smart street lights” in 25 cities across the country, including Beijing, Hunan, and Dongguan. There are also layouts along the Yangtze River in Guangzhou.

What is the difference between these street lights and ordinary street lights? For the reporter's question, Yuan Feng, executive deputy director of the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guangzhou, said that unlike ordinary street lamps, these street lamps are equipped with sensors. These sensors are like smart lights, so they can "see" more. More things, more information, in order to make appropriate feedback in the background, so these street lights are in fact the Internet of Things infrastructure and big data platform.

According to reports, a modern "smart street lamp" itself has a multi-function. It can not only illuminate the night, but also automatically adjust the light intensity according to the change of natural light to achieve the power saving while maximizing the lighting efficiency; through the camera mounted on the street light, it can accurately monitor the road surface in real time; from the lighting system The saved energy can charge the electric car parked on the roadside; by installing various sensors and wireless routers on the street lamp, the street lamp can “perceive” various sudden situations such as traffic jams, flooding streets, and passers-by alarms. And timely send information to a specific system; it can also provide powerful Wifi signals for the business districts and citizens on both sides of the road... With these functions, the software of Guangzhou Academy of Sciences has formed a "smart city" street light system, which can effectively use a set. The program responds to many public problems such as energy conservation and environmental protection, road traffic, and citizen services in urban management, and even assists in combating crime.

“The most important thing is to concentrate the functions of many city management on one street lamp, without spending extra energy, and avoid the phenomenon of repeated construction of cement columns and video cameras in each department.” Yuan Feng said that the "smart street light" developed by the software of Guangzhou Academy of Sciences highlights the characteristics of "platform + application". Based on the street-based IoT platform, more applications can be added to serve urban management.

IoT International Joint R&D Center will be established

According to Yuan Feng, the Guangzhou Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences will recently cooperate with Silicon Valley enterprises in the incubator of Zhongshi Zhicheng (a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) in Nansha, and introduce a US research team to Nansha to work with the Chinese team to jointly promote international standards. Formulate and explore a model covering investment construction and localization operation, and drive the upstream and downstream industry development and rapid promotion.

According to the agreement of the two parties, Sensity will officially send a research and development team to Nansha at the end of June, and set up an international joint research and development center in Nansha, and also set up a research and development center in Silicon Valley.

"In the cooperation and exchanges, China and the United States have already invested a lot in the intelligent cities of the Internet of Things, but the application directions are different." Yuan Feng said that the top three applications for the demand for smart street lamps in China are lighting, Wifi, charging pile, and the top three in the United States are lighting, video, parking. If we can integrate the Sino-US sensor system and the back-end unified management system, it will undoubtedly greatly promote the comprehensive strength of the two sides in the application of IoT technology.

Mylar Speaker

The Mylar Speaker solutions come in a variety of shapes and sizes. We can provide various mounting configurations and performance alterations to fit any industrial application. Our Mylar speakers produce excellent sound output (dB) at specified frequency ranges. The unique characteristics of a Mylar cone allow us to keep tight tolerances during the manufacturing process. Additionally, Mylar is easily and consistently moldable, creating a cost-effective solution, time after time. It`s also beneficial in applications that are exposed to excessive moisture or humidity since Mylar has a high resistance to environmental factors.
