Overview:
Inverters for electric/hybrid vehicles (EV/HEV) should also act as on-board chargers to save space, reduce weight and reduce costs. The inverter and motor act as a step-up/step-down converter for the switch mode. When switching the IGBT as a battery charger, it should be performed at a higher frequency of up to 30 kHz. The HybridPACK2 (650V 800A, 6 in 1) IGBT module has a gate charge of 8.6μC, which requires 4 to 5 watts of power per IGBT module at 30 kHz. To this end, we have developed a driver circuit that successfully controls the HybridPACK 2 with superior thermal performance and characteristics at a switching frequency of 30 kHz.

1. INTRODUCTION The use of stator windings as charger system inductors has become increasingly popular in electric vehicles/hybrid vehicles (EV/HEV) [1]. Inverters and motors can be used for two purposes, reducing the size, weight and cost. This is important in electric vehicles/hybrid vehicles (EV/HEV) because of the well-known: because batteries can take up a lot of space, weight and cost. Figure 1 shows the main circuit topology provided by AC Propulsion. The figure shows how the inverter and motor work in the charging system.

The inductance of the motor is usually designed for traction. The IGBT as an inverter is switched at a frequency of about 10 kHz. However, if the battery is being charged as a switching power supply, the IGBT needs to be switched between 20 kHz and 30 kHz to achieve acceptable current ripple. The driver board and IGBT are required in both the charge mode and the motor control mode. This is the main challenge facing hardware development. Figure 2 shows the device of the test bench.
