The LTC®6412 is a fully differential variable gain amplifier that uses log linear analog gain control. It is designed for AC coupling operation in the IF receiver link (from 1MHz to 500MHz). The device has a constant OIP3 over a wide output amplitude range and 31dB gain control range. Furthermore, the relationship between output noise (NF + gain) and gain is flat to provide a uniform spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR)> 120dB at 240MHz and the entire gain control range.
The LTC6412 is ideal for interfacing with the LT®5527 and LT5557 down-conversion mixers, the LTC6410-6 IF amplifier, and the LTC6400 / LTC6401 / LTC6416 ADC drivers suitable for use in 12-bit, 14-bit, and 16-bit ADC applications.
The LTC6412 can achieve fast recovery from overdrive conditions, and the EN pin provides a fast output signal disable function to protect sensitive downstream components. Setting the SHDN pin to an active low state will reduce current consumption to less than 1mA to achieve power-down or sleep mode.
