Philips has released two new automotive lighting solutions in Shanghai recently, including LED headlamps with LUXEONR Altilon technology and 25W xenon headlamps.
Dominiek Plancke, president of Philips Automotive Lighting, said that LUXEONR Altilon is the most advanced technology for LEDs for automotive headlamps. Currently, Philips xenon lamps are currently used in luxury cars, but the 25W xenon lamp technology can help lighting plants reduce costs. Then enter the mid-end car market.
Compared to the traditional 35W xenon lamp, the 25W xenon lamp technology is a more compact solution that allows the lamp factory to enter the smaller automotive market. At present, the 25W xenon lamp technology solution has been applied to Daimler's Smart car.
Dominiek Plancke stressed that the current xenon lamp on the market is mainly 35W, but the next generation xenon lamp will be 25W.
In addition, Dominiek Plancke pointed out that Philips has established a strong relationship with many Chinese automakers and automakers, and most of the Chinese automakers use Philips auto lighting solutions.
Dominiek Plancke said that following the establishment of a production base in Songzi, Hubei Province a few years ago, Philips Automotive Lighting also plans to build a new plant in Malu Town, Jiading District, Shanghai. The first batch of products will be put into production in 2011.
