“We have achieved such rapid growth in the overall screen thanks to accurate judgments on market trends.” Peng Xuhui said: “When the full screen first appeared in early 2017, some terminal manufacturers were even skeptical. Under such circumstances, Tianma was keenly aware of the market opportunities of the full-screen, so it took the lead in technological preparation and production lines, and thus took the initiative, covering products such as Huawei, OPPO, vivo, MOTO, Hammer and other large domestic and foreign customers. The popularity of comprehensive screens in the field of smartphones also confirms the judgment at the time."

When talking about the overall status of the screen, Peng Xuhui also believes that the existing program has yet to be improved and improved, including screen share, slot size, camera position, fingerprint identification. In terms of technical advancement, Tianma put the second-generation full-screen technology early and adopted the design of Notch+ ultra-narrow frame to make the screen occupy a larger proportion. This series of products has been successfully mass-produced and applied to Huawei nova3e and other mobile phones. In terms of slotting dimensions, Tianma also actively explores new solutions with customers, hoping to dig holes to place the slot in an unobservable position within the consumer's visual range, and to achieve a truly ultimate full screen visually.

Peng Xuhui also has his own views on the future development of a comprehensive screen. He believes: “The further reduction in the size of the bottom bezel will be a major challenge for the full screen. Tianma is combining the development of the COF to achieve a higher screen share. From a market perspective, the full screen will still be in the next 2-3 years. This is an important trend for smartphones. To this end, we are also actively developing third- and fourth-generation full-screen products that will be validated and developed with end-user customers and create better products for consumers."

Lay a good foundation for LTPS future flexible display

"In the next two years, collapsible handsets will emerge." For the terminal application direction, Peng Xuhui said: "With the intensified competition in the field of smartphones, flexible AMOLED display will become the main direction for the future. At the same time, on-board display, medical, aviation The expansion of new application areas will also provide support for the display panel industry, of which the onboard display is expected to become the next major application market."

It is understood that under the impetus of Apple's mobile phone, AMOLED's penetration rate in the small and medium sized product market has rapidly increased, and is expected to become the mainstream choice for smartphones. In this exhibition, Tianma also demonstrated the 5.99-inch WQHD+ flexible notch display for the first time. It adopts flexible AMOLED technology and is characterized by being bendable, ultra-thin, and anti-fragmentation, displaying excellent characteristics, and can be bent at a radius of curvature of 3mm. Effect, resolution reaches WQHD+ (2880×1440) level.

After years of development, the Chinese mainland has become an important pole in the global display industry, and investment in new types of displays is also leading the world. Among them, the small and medium size panel production capacity in 2018 will be close to 50% of global production capacity, and it is expected to reach 60% in 2020.
