The latest news on the 23rd, according to an official blog announced by Microsoft on Monday, it has signed an acquisition agreement with the AI smart meeting scheduling startup Genee. The latter founders, Ben Cheung and Charles Lee, will then join Microsoft. The specific transaction amount between the two parties was not announced.
Founded in 2014, Genee is a conference scheduling service company that provides artificial intelligence algorithms. Using Genee to plan a meeting is a simple two-step process: Send e-mails to all attendees and copy them. The e-mails describe the details of the meeting type and time plan in everyday language. Then, wait for the system's automatic reminder and click on the corresponding link to join the meeting and you're done. Its services can effectively simplify the cumbersome and time-consuming aspects of traditional conference arrangements, especially for large companies.
According to Crunchbase, Genee has successfully completed financing of $1.4 million before being acquired. After the acquisition is completed, the company will close the existing service on September 1st and gradually integrate it into Microsoft's Office 365 service.
"We believe that Microsoft has always been the industry leader in the areas of personal and enterprise productivity, artificial intelligence, and virtual assistants. So we look forward to bringing our own pursuits and expertise into this team to achieve the most cutting-edge Voice and smart services," said the founder of Genee.
